Campus Safety for College Bound Girls

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

This course is designed for young women who are entering their first year of college. 1 out of 5 women will be a victim of a sexual-related assault during their first year of college.

To ensure your college experience is fun, exciting, and safe, André Salvage and Associates has put together a class for young women about to go to college. With even more reported attacks occurring on college campuses, it is important, now more than ever, that young women learn the personal awareness skills to understand predatory behavior and inform their own choices around drinking and parties. Most important, every young woman needs to know how to physically stop someone from harming them. There is no better class for young women to safely receive this information than this class.

André Salvage and Associates has developed this seminar to share tools and skills to navigate through this exciting but sometimes vulnerable time. It is essential for any young woman to prepare properly for this new environment. This is the course for her.

Awareness

• Trusting your intuition
• Social pulls that are dangerous
• Safety plan for parties
• Safety on campus, dormitories, street, and parties
• Drinking and drug choices
• Recognizing dangerous situations without becoming paranoid

Assertiveness

• Educating people how to treat you
• Knowing when and how to aggressively assert and to passively assert yourself.
• Speaking up when something is wrong

Self-Defense

• Stopping someone from harming you
• Preparing to defend yourself against someone you know
• Standing and ground techniques
• Self-defense against single attackers
